FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WEB ASSESSMENT TESTS CORPORATE STRATEGIES FOR DIVERSE WORKFORCE A Glenview consulting firm has developed a “Diversity Assessment” to help CEOs and their top management key in on strategic weaknesses in their recruiting and retention programs of Hispanics. The new “tear-off” audit can be downloaded from the web at www.latinoworkforce.com and taken in the privacy of your own boardroom, according to Graciela Kenig, a principal in the consulting firm. “Our purpose is to get executives thinking about how their corporation is handling the diversity issue,” she said. “And this 20-question diagnostic tool will help them discover some of the weaker links in their program as well.” Kenig & Associates emphasized that the assessment is “private,” that is, executives don’t have to register their answers online and can score themselves offline as well. “We are learning that many companies are struggling hard to move their diverse workforces upward into management. Our firm specializes in identifying leaders as well as welcoming top minority talent into upper management,” she said. “The assessment “scores” range from 0 to 40. The higher the score, the more effectively your corporation is managing and capitalizing on diversity in your workforce,” Kenig explains. A score of over 35 points indicates the corporation is setting diversity as a top priority. A score of 25 points or higher means your company is making an effort to adapt its recruitment, retention and advancement practices to meet the needs of culturally diverse candidates. “Any score under 25 points means the company needs to take a hard look at its policy and practices and consider revising them if a diverse workforce is a high priority,” she said. Graciela Kenig is as a consultant and trainer in the area of multicultural work issues as well as the founder of Kenig & Assoc. She is the author of Best Careers for Bilingual Latinos, a book published by McGraw-Hill.
